The theme that seems to be closely related to the ladies on the show “Basketball Wives” is the fairytale myth that you marry your soul mate and they will live “happily ever after”. Watching movies that perpetuate those enchanted endings where the couple realizes they the love they have between them will conquer all only helps to continue the myth of the ending which most marriages in the age of popular culture won’t see.

The most interesting finding from the analysis is despite the reputation and the myths that surround celebrity athletes women still believe in the and hold on to the hope of the magical endings. I think that also comes from the lifestyle the women have been afforded to live after they become involved with an athlete.

When the show “Basketball Wives” first aired I thought I would only see the fabulous lives that these women lived with no stresses or problems, instead the analysis I am left with is even with wealth and privilege we still have common problems when it comes to the matter of  love,  marriage and hoping for the fairytale ending.
